An extensive 60-day journey through Australia has been cancelled in the wake of the death of an older lady who was left behind by the vessel on a distant tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been walking on Lizard Island with other travelers from the Coral Adventurer, but broke off from the group for a break. The ship left without her and returned after some time after the personnel became aware the passenger was unaccounted for.

A large-scale hunt discovered her body the following day.

Investigative bodies are looking into the incident, together with law enforcement and the medical examiner.

Chief Executive of the voyage organizer announced that guests and crew on the Coral Adventurer were notified that the rest of the voyage had been cancelled due to the "unfortunate death and previous mechanical issues".

Via official communication, he further stated that passengers would be given a complete reimbursement, and said the operator was working "to arrange the homeward trips of the individuals via specially arranged planes".

Authorities also published an latest statement, and said they had "delivered a directive to the Commander" prohibiting any additional guests from getting on the liner.

The spokesperson said that they would attend the liner in the Australian city upon its arrival.

The vessel originally sailed from the Australian port on the 24th of October, and was just two days into the journey at the time of the elderly woman's death. Lizard Island was the opening port on the itinerary.

Travelers on the vessel - who usually pay large sums of currency to participate in the voyage - were taken there for a day trip with the choice of walking or underwater exploration.

Family Statement

The offspring of the elderly passenger said that her loved ones was "stunned and distressed that the vessel left the location after an organised tour without my parent".

Via her announcement, she described her mother as an "active octogenarian" who was a member of a walking group.

"Based on limited facts we have been informed, it appears that there was a failure of care and ordinary reasoning," she said.

She continued that she wished the inquiry would be able to determine what "the organization should have performed that might have saved Mother's existence".

"We understand from the authorities that it was a exceptionally warm day, and mother took sick on the hill climb," she stated.

"She was asked her to return, without accompaniment. Then the boat sailed away, seemingly without doing a headcount.

"During some point in that sequence, or soon after, she died, by herself."

Via official communication, the Head verified that the organization was "working closely with investigators to assist their examination".

He mentioned that the organization was "extremely apologetic that this has happened" and had provided its total backing to the loved ones.
